Privacy policy

This is a translation for your convenience. The German version of this privacy policy is the legally binding one.

Protecting your personal data matters to us. Here we explain which data we process when you visit this website, for what purpose, and which rights you have.

1. Controller

Hotel wohnbar GbR
Stangsstraße 3, 96047 Bamberg, Germany
Phone: +49 (0) 951 50 99 88 44
Email: info@wohnbar-bamberg.de

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not legally required to do so.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by the following provider: Webhosting Franken, owner Holger Häring, Wassermannstraße 32, 96050 Bamberg, Germany. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Each time the website is accessed, the server automatically processes data transmitted by your browser:

This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log data is only stored for as long as is necessary for these purposes and is then deleted.

3. Contacting us and enquiry form

If you contact us via the enquiry form, by email or by phone, we process your details (name, email address, optionally phone number, content of your message) in order to answer your enquiry. The details from the form are sent to us by email.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a booking or a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in answering your enquiry. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed for processing and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA

To protect the enquiry form against automated submissions we use Google reCAPTCHA, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The service is only loaded once you click “Load spam protection” in the form. Your IP address, information about your browser and device and your behaviour on the page, among other things, are then transmitted to Google; Google may set cookies. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG, which you give by clicking. Without the spam protection the form cannot be sent; you can then reach us by email or phone. Further information: Google privacy policy.

4. Online booking via DIRS21

For availability checks and online bookings we use the booking system DIRS21 provided by TourOnline AG, Borsigstraße 26, 73249 Wernau (Neckar), Germany.

The booking module is only loaded once you agree (“Load booking module”). Your browser then connects to the DIRS21 servers and transmits, among other things, your IP address. The module also loads a font from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), which means your IP address is also transferred to Google. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out. The booking system may set its own cookies, about which you are informed separately there.

The legal basis for loading the module is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” in the footer of the home page.

When you make a booking, we process the data you provide (for example name, address, contact details, travel dates, payment details) in order to perform the accommodation contract. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. TourOnline AG acts as a processor on our behalf. Further information: DIRS21 privacy information.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website itself does not set any cookies and does not use any analytics or advertising services. Cookies can only arise once you load the booking module or the spam protection. We only store your decision about the booking module in your browser’s local storage (entry “wohnbar-buchungsmodul”) so that we do not have to ask you again on every visit. This is technically necessary within the meaning of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. You can delete the entry at any time in your browser settings.

6. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are hosted locally on our server. No connection to third-party servers is established for them when you visit the website.

For directions we link to Google Maps. The map is not embedded in our website. Only when you click the link do you leave our website, and Google’s privacy policy then applies.

8. Recipients and retention

We only pass on your data where this is necessary to perform a contract, where we are legally obliged to do so, or where you have consented. Recipients are our service providers for hosting and the booking system. We retain booking and billing data for the periods required by commercial and tax law, generally six to ten years. Data that we collect under the German Federal Registration Act is stored for the period specified there.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

Please use the contact details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.

10. Data security

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise the encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
